Creative outputs of the RECLAMA project

The project's peer researchers have collected over sixty oral history interviews with women in their communities. After the compilation of interviews, a group of peer researchers and interviewees worked together to develop an analysis, identifying key points of the heritage of Afro-Ecuadorian women: aesthetics, spirituality, gastronomy, and traditional medicine and healing plants. These aspects of their heritage are represented in a variety of creative products made by the participants, some of which are now available here on our website:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Youtube
  • Spotify

RECLAMA: Harnessing Afroecuadorian Women's Heritage is a shared project of the Mujeres de Asfalto collective, Universidad San Francisco de Quito and Northumbria University. It is funded by the Heritage, Dignity and Violence fund of the British Academy/Global Challenges Research Fund.
